Blink and you will miss him
BLINK THE BRIGHTEST — Tracy Bonham

Darryl Sterdan
Sun Media

2005-08-24

Believe it or not, there was a brief time in the '90s when Tracy Bonham was touted as the Next Big Thing — until somebody realized moody singer-violinists seldom turn into Big Things.

Especially when they only make an album every five years or so.

So now, the Boston native is better known as one of music's unsung heroines: A classically trained musician and an accomplished songwriter who pens darkly rich pop tracks akin to old Liz Phair or Aimee Mann with a dash of Chrissie Hynde, and who puts them together every now and then in a sure-to-be-overlooked gem like this third album Blink the Brightest.

Don't blink or you'll miss out.

Track Listing:

• 1. Something Beautiful
• 2. I Was Born Without You
• 3. And the World Has the Nerve to Keep Turning
• 4. Eyes
• 5. Take Your Love Out on Me
• 6. Whether You Fall
• 7. Dumbo Sun
• 8. All Thumbs
• 9. Naked
• 10. Shine
• 11. Wilting Flower
• 12. Did I Sleep Through It All?

Sun rating (out of 5 stars)
